Australian Ski Club
The
Australian Ski Club atGuthega Ski
Resortin the Snowy
Mountains of New South Wales was designed byPeter
Aynsleyin 1974/5 and constructed
over the summers of 1975/76 and 1976/77. Peter managed the
construction process over this period and a significant
amount of work was undertaken by club members who devoted
their weekends throughout two summers to the endeavour. The
five-level load-bearing brick, concrete block and reinforced
concrete structure built in this manner was an ambitious project in
any location, let alone in remote Guthega.

Photos show Club members
at work in the Summer of 1976/77 - even to the extent of
pouring the reinforced concrete floors using the small concrete
mixer shown - with Engineer John Delprado's careful advice on what
to do and what not to do with the mix.......
