Neil
Macdonald is a management professional who has more than 25 years’
business experience – the last twenty of which has been at senior
management and/or Director level. He is a Director of both Prime
Property Corporation Pty Ltd and Christiana Capital Pty
Ltd.
Neil’s
early training came from being placed in a fast-track program in
the banking industry. During the period 1973-1982 he held various
positions based on developing a grounding in lending and
management. This culminated in his appointment as Corporate Finance
Manager (NSW) for the National Australia Bank in 1984. During this
period Neil obtained his Bachelor of Business degree.
Over the
period 1985 to 1987 Neil completed his MBA at Macquarie University
and worked as a management consultant to a number of companies,
specialising in restructuring. He also undertook work for financial
services organizations in the area of venture/equity capital
raisings and syndicated debt finance. This led to the formation of
Project Equity Finance Limited in 1988 with Neil as Managing
Director.
Neil has
continued to specialise in financial packaging for small and medium
sized businesses and in addition has taken equity positions in a
number of businesses over the past fifteen years, in most cases
fulfilling the role of Director or CEO or Managing Director. These
activities included Neil’s role as founding Director and CEO of
First Netcom Pty Ltd – one of the first Telecommunications Service
Providers in the newly-deregulated industry of the 1990s.
Neil
continues as Managing Director of FNH Group Pty Ltd, which has
now evolved into a litigation funding business (www.firstnet.com.au) and manages the
day-to-day operations of Protect
Yourself. Neil is also CFO and a
substantial shareholder in the Mobiles2go Group (www.mlbs2go.com).
Neil
provides his management expertise for projects undertaken by
Christiana Capital. This work is provided on a part-time basis in
addition to Neil’s role as a Director of the company. Neil will
typically become involved on a project-specific basis, in addition
to his corporate governance responsibilities.
